Hepeviridae Study Group

The Hepevirdae study group intends to post genome alignments of genera and species within the family in the near future.

The Table below gives a summary of the current taxonomic structure of the Hepeviridaeas as proposed in: Smith, D. B., Simmonds, P., Jameel, S., Emerson, S. U., Harrison, T. J., Meng, X.-J., Okamoto, H., Van der Poel, W. H. M. & Purdy, M. A. (2014). Consensus proposals for classification of the family Hepeviridae. J Gen Virol 95, 2223–32 and ratified by the ICTV.

Reference sequences for subtypes of Orthohepvirus A have been proposed in: Smith, D. B., Simmonds, P., Izopet, J., Oliveira-Filho, E. F., Ulrich, R. G., Johne, R., Koenig, M., Jameel, S., Harrison, T. J., Meng X-J., Okamoto H., van der Poel W.H.M. and Purdy M.A. (2016). Proposed reference sequences for Hepatitis E virus subtypes. J Gen Virol. (in press, doi: 10.1099/jgv.0.000393). A Table summarising these reference sequences is available here.
