Morphology

No details are available on the morphology of the virions.

Nucleic acid

Genome (Nagai et al., 2015): 7,557–7,625 nt (5′-UTR: c. 550 nt; ORF: 6,882–7,023 nt; 3′-UTR: up to 134 nt). The location of the cre has not been identified.

The deduced polyprotein is of 2,294–2,341 amino acids.

Biology

No virus has been isolated. Viral RNA was detected in faecal samples of diarrhoeic cattle (Bos taurus) and in unspecified samples of sheep. Four types are distinguished my means of phylogenetic analysis (BooV-A1, BooV-B1, BooV-B2, BooV-C1).
